The Friday checkmate refresher is back with Chess King. How many of these checkmates can you solve? All chess puzzles are White to play and checkmate in two.
for number one i saw a ton of stalemates but… only got 2nd one. Re8+ Bxe8 d7#
1. Na5 d5 2. Nb3 checkmate
Top puzzle: 1. Na5 d5 2. Nb3++
Middle puzzle: 1. Rf7 Bxe6 2. Rf8++ or: 1. Rf7 Be8 (or anywhere else on diagonal d4-e8) 2. Rc7++
Bottom puzzle: 1. Rg7 Kh2 2. Rh7++
OOPs.. typing error in my solution to “Middle Puzzle”… not “d4-e8″, but “a4-e8″. I’m a lousy typist! Sorry bout that. ~~Tom
• Middle puzzle: 1. Rf7 Bxe6 2. Rf8++ Should have said: or: 1. Rf7 Be8 (or anywhere else on diagonal a4-e8) 2. Rc7++
