Rook Chess Puzzle: White Checkmates in Three
In the position on the left, of course White is winning being a full Rook up. But, can you find the right method to checkmate in three?
In fact, White can checkmate in three by going down on the e-file to any of the squares from e4 to e8. The idea used in Rook checkmates is to cut of the files or ranks.
very basic but good for time-trouble or say when you are in the 50-move rule
aw man!
quite easy but interesting
thanks – love rook puzzles – the double rook ones are real tough to master – i like puzzles where white is winning any way but you have to do it faster or checkmate – fun
really? I like the ones where white is losing but has a forced checkmate
