Game 8 Dull Draw in 75 Minutes: Carlsen Keeps 5-3 Lead vs Anand at Chennai World Chess Championship 2013

Game 8 proved to be a dull draw at the Carlsen – Anand World Chess Championship 2013 in Chennai on Tuesday. The World No. 1 from Norway keeps his lead of 5-3 over defending champion Viswanathan Anand. Only four more games remain to be played in the classical time-control 12 games. Magnus Carlsen needs 1.5 points from four games to become the next World Chess Champion and just 1 point to stay in contention with a tiebreak. Viswanathan Anand needs at least 3 points from the next four games to force a tiebreak. Anything more of course gets him to retain the World Championship title. Read a full report on Chess Blog.
