2012 World Chess Championship – Anand beats Gelfand on tiebreak 2.5 – 1.5

The headline says it all. In today’s tiebreak session of the 2012 World Chess Championship, Viswanathan Anand retained his title with a 2.5 to 1.5 victory over challenger Boris Gelfand in the tiebreak “mini match”.

The second game of the tiebreak match was the sole game to end decisively, as Anand went up a pawn in the early going and ground out a win in seventy-seven moves.     It helps a lot for a person with vision impairment like me to enjoy the game as my screen reader does not support to play the game in Chess King Pro.
